Job Description n Job title: Safety Engineer n Salary: up-to £80,000 DOE n Location: Bristol/Hybrid (office, client sites & WFH) n A specialist consultancy in high-hazard industries is hiring a Safety Engineer to support continued growth across safety-critical programmes in Civil Nuclear, Defence Facilities and Energy Storage . n The role n You’ll lead and deliver a range of projects, from early scoping through to detailed design and commissioning, ensuring safety-critical requirements are met to the right standard, safely and efficiently. n This role suits someone comfortable operating at lead consultant level, managing technical delivery and client interfaces. n Role responsibilities: n n Lead projects end-to-end (concept – commissioning), managing delivery, timelines and budgets n Specify, design and assess control, instrumentation and safety systems in safety-critical environments n Apply safety assessment and hazard analysis techniques including HAZOP, LOPA, SIL determination, FMEA, FTA n Produce/review/verify/approve technical documentation (reports, specifications, design documentation) n Own client-facing delivery: define requirements, agree scope, manage risks, provide progress reporting n Support innovation work – taking new systems/tech from concept through to acceptance n n The ideal candidate: n n Strong practical knowledge of process control systems and EC&I deliverables (P&IDs, SLDs, BCDs, schematics) n Experience delivering safety-critical work to industry standards (EC 61508/IEC 61511/ISO 13849/DO-178/DO-254 etc) n Experience working to ISO 9001 quality standards n Strong written communication + confident client engagement and report writing n SC cleared or clearable n Nuclear industry experience desirable n n Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be UK nationals and able to meet UK National Security Vetting requirements. n If you are open to learning more about this role, apply here with your CV and we could pencil in a 5/10 minute call.
