Job Overview

We are seeking a Development Planner for our integrated Development team in Leeds. This role involves working on a range of commercial, retail, residential and Local Development Framework projects, developing transport strategies and supporting expert witness evidence.

Responsibilities

• Develop transport assessments, travel plans, access strategies, parking strategies and active travel provision.• Prepare traffic flow information for transport assessments and environmental statements.• Set up and run junction capacity modelling software (Junctions 10, Linsig) and conduct scenario testing.• Design conceptual junctions (priority, roundabout, signals).• Communicate with clients, project teams and stakeholders.• Share technical knowledge and support the wider team.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, access strategy work, parking strategies, sustainable transport and active travel provision, and knowledge of NPPF, DfT Transport Assessment guidelines, Manual for Streets.
  • Preparation of traffic flow information for Transport Assessment and/or Environmental Statement.
  • Proficiency in junction capacity modelling software such as Junctions 10 and Linsig, including understanding inputs, outputs and scenario testing.
  • Capability in conceptual junction design (priority, roundabout, signals).
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in speaking with clients, project teams, co‑professionals and stakeholders.
  • Ability to share knowledge with others in technical expertise areas.
  • Confidence with day‑to‑day software packages such as Excel and Word.
