Overview

In this senior role, you drive the evolution of reporting and insight within MetLife UK. You will own critical Management Information and lead the shift from manual processes to modern, scalable solutions. You’ll collaborate across a cross-functional team to simplify and automate reporting, enhance data quality, and enable data-driven decisions. Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver accurate recurring MI and critical reporting, including legacy Excel/VBA processes
  • Modernise the reporting estate and ensure continuity of existing reports
  • Identify opportunities to automate and migrate manual reports to governed BI solutions
  • Develop Power BI reports, datasets and data models aligned with standards
  • Automate data preparation and report distribution using Power Query and Power Automate
  • Handle ad hoc data requests while balancing BAU delivery
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into effective reporting
  • Implement quality controls and reconciliations with Data Governance and IT
  • Document report definitions, data sources, and lineage with governance standards
  • Contribute to report rationalisation by retiring low-value reports
  • Support self-service reporting by creating reusable, governed BI assets
  • Share knowledge and improve reporting processes and capability across MI, BI, and reporting

Key requirements

  • Proven experience in BI, MI, and reporting with ability to own and deliver business-critical reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with legacy/VBA-based reporting advantageous
  • Strong Power BI capability: complex reports, data models, DAX, workspace publishing, and refresh management
  • Advanced Power Query and experience automating reporting or data preparation
  • SQL knowledge to query and validate data from multiple sources
  • Experience identifying reporting improvements and migrating to automated, governed solutions
  • Understanding of reporting governance, lineage, naming standards, and change control
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate business needs into clear reporting solutions
  • Ability to prioritise recurring reports, transformation work, and ad hoc requests
