Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join a major commercial construction project in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical professional to take responsibility for the delivery, coordination and installation of mechanical building services on a large-scale commercial project.

  • Manage and coordinate all mechanical installation activities on site.
  • Oversee mechanical subcontractors and specialist contractors.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
  • Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, structural and architectural packages.
  • Manage site progress, productivity and programme requirements.
  • Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
  • Monitor quality of installation and ensure works meet relevant standards and specifications.
  • Review drawings, RAMS, technical documentation and installation details.
  • Identify and resolve technical and construction issues on site.
  • Liaise with design teams, consultants, subcontractors and the client.
  • Assist with procurement, materials planning and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Support commissioning, testing and handover of mechanical systems.
  • Maintain accurate site records and documentation.Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager, Mechanical Site Manager or similar.
  • Strong background in commercial building services / construction projects.
  • Good understanding of mechanical building services installations, including HVAC, heating, ventilation, plumbing and associated systems.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades.
  • Strong understanding of construction programmes, drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants and project teams.
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction health and safety requirements.
  • Relevant mechanical/building services qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • SMSTS and relevant site qualifications are desirable
