Overview
In this Project Engineer role, you will introduce bespoke automated machines and lead validation work to ensure production-ready, inspect-capable equipment. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, manage risks, and communicate progress while driving tangible benefits to the business. The role offers growth toward senior engineering with opportunities to mentor and influence validation strategies. You’ll work at the Witney Centre of Excellence, supporting Abbott’s biosensor manufacturing and healthcare impact.

Responsibilities
- Create project plans addressing timelines, risks and stakeholder communication
- Understand and communicate the business impact and benefits of changes
- Deliver validated production and inspection machines for medical device manufacturing
- Develop and execute validation tests to confirm machines meet requirements
- Become a subject matter expert and technical voice within cross-functional teams and with suppliers
- Lead project management, validation test development, and equipment validations
- Occasionally visit supplier sites to support capital equipment projects
Key requirements
- HNC in Engineering (degree preferred)
- Proven project engineering experience, preferably with automated machinery
- Technical project management capability
- Strong problem-solving mindset
- Curiosity, technical rigor, and continuous improvement emphasis
