About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Facilities Manager to join a growing residential property business and take ownership of a brand-new multifamily development in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business during a key growth period and play a pivotal role in the mobilisation, operation and long-term success of a high-quality residential community.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the building, apartments, communal facilities and external areas. You will lead the onsite maintenance function, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is delivered to a high standard while creating an exceptional living environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day maintenance and technical operation of the development.
- Manage planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair programmes.
- Carry out regular building, apartment and health & safety inspections.
- Ensure statutory compliance requirements are met, recorded and maintained.
- Oversee contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time and to the required standard.
- Manage building systems, assets and maintenance records.
- Support apartment turnarounds, coordinating repairs and preparing homes for new residents.
- Monitor maintenance budgets and identify opportunities to improve asset performance and value for money.
- Lead, coach and develop onsite maintenance team members.
- Work closely with operational teams to deliver an outstanding resident experience.
- Support building mobilisation, handover, commissioning, snagging and defects management activities.
About You
We would love to hear from candidates who have:
- Strong Facilities Management, Building Management or Property Management experience.
- Experience managing maintenance operations within residential, Build to Rent, multifamily, commercial property or similar environments.
- Knowledge of M&E systems, building services and statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience overseeing contractors, service providers and maintenance programmes.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with residents, contractors and stakeholders.
- Previous team leadership or management experience.
- Experience with new-build mobilisation, handovers, commissioning or defects management would be advantageous.
