Are you patient, enthusiastic and passionate about helping children learn? SupplyGo are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Matlock, Belper and the wider Derbyshire area.,

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
  • Working with individuals, small groups or whole classes under the direction of the class teacher
  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, including children with additional or complex needs
  • Helping pupils with reading, writing, maths and phonics
  • Supporting positive behaviour and promoting a calm, inclusive learning environment
  • Assisting with classroom organisation, resources and displays
  • Supporting pupils’ personal care, wellbeing and social development where required
  • Helping supervise playtimes, lunchtimes and school trips (where applicable), If you don’t already have an up-to-date enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will support you through the process.Experience of working with children, either in a school or in a similar setting (voluntary experience considered)
  • A warm, reliable and flexible approach
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • The right to work in the UK

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, autism, ADHD or social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and phonics schemes
  • Behaviour management training (e.g. Team Teach)
  • Paediatric first aid certificate
  • Your own transport, as some schools in rural areas are difficult to reach by public transport
