Permanent Health & Safety Officer required for Dungannon.
Duties will include:
- Coordinate health & safety activities across multiple sites and ensure a consistent approach to safety and legal compliance.
- Carry out regular risk assessments, workplace inspections and safety audits.
- Identify hazards and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.
- Monitor safety performance through audits, inspections and KPIs.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, produce reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Keep accurate records of accidents, inspections, risk assessments and other H&S documentation.
- Review, update and implement health & safety policies and procedures in accordance with current legislation.
- Standardise safety documentation and procedures across sites.
- Manage contractor controls and permit-to-work systems.
- Support emergency preparedness, including fire safety and first-aid arrangements.
- Develop and deliver health & safety training and maintain the company’s training matrix.
- Ensure appropriate PPE and safety equipment is available and being used correctly.
- Monitor and maintain first-aid provisions.
- Work closely with managers, supervisors and employees to improve safety performance.
- Promote a positive health & safety culture through communication, coaching and employee engagement.
- Drive continuous improvement rather than simply checking compliance.
- Occasionally travel to other sites throughout the island of Ireland.
Essential Criteria:
- NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
- 25 years’ experience in a similar H&S position.
- Experience in food manufacturing, warehousing or cold storage is highly desirable.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational and analytical abilities.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to influence managers and employees and drive behavioural change.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday 38.75 hrs per week
Salary; £42,000 – £45,000 (DOE)
