Compliance Assistant

Nixon McQuade is delighted to be recruiting a Compliance Assistant on behalf of a leading commercial law firm in Belfast.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an administrator with a relevant degree to develop a career in legal risk and compliance. No previous compliance experience is required, with full training and support provided.

The Role:

  • Support client onboarding and the opening of new client and matter files.

  • Obtain and review client identification and onboarding documentation.

  • Assist with anti-money laundering checks, sanctions screening and client due diligence.

  • Maintain accurate compliance records and follow up on outstanding information.

  • Liaise with solicitors and business services teams, responding to routine queries and escalating issues where required.

  • Support file reviews, audits and improvements to compliance processes.

The Person:

  • A relevant degree in Law, Business or a related discipline.

  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and work proactively.

  • A willingness to learn and an interest in developing a career in compliance.

Previous exposure to client onboarding, financial crime, risk or regulatory processes would be beneficial but is not essential.
