Production Manager (Technical production – Live Events)

Overview

The Production Manager leads the technical delivery of live, hybrid, and virtual events, partnering with the creative team to shape innovative solutions from concept to execution. You’ll manage on-site crews and suppliers, oversee the full production process, and ensure events meet client briefs, safety standards, and budgets. This role blends technical leadership with client relationship building to deliver compelling brand experiences. You will work across disciplines and global teams to drive impactful, scalable productions.

Responsibilities

• Manage all technical production elements of events from start to finish with a focus on innovative solutions
• Create and manage detailed pre-production schedules and coordinate with suppliers to meet deadlines
• Conduct site inspections, guide venue selection, and monitor construction of set items for smooth operations
• Oversee on-site technical elements ensuring safety and flawless delivery
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve favorable rates and added value for clients
• Manage project budgets, meet financial targets, and improve margins
• Prepare written proposals, attend client meetings, and nurture client relationships
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and stay updated on regulations
• Collaborate with teams to ensure effective project delivery and stay ahead of industry innovations

Key requirements

• Four+ years of technical experience in theatre, live events, or related fields
• Proven experience managing exhibition stands, conferences, and various events
• International work experience
• Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is desirable
• Strong budget control and production cost management experience
• Experience negotiating with a broad network of suppliers
• Excellent communication and delegation skills
• Proficiency with Office 365 and software like AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and Adobe Suite
• Interest in AI and its benefits for the company
