Underwriter

Overview

As an Underwriter in the Warranty & Indemnity (W&I) team, you will assess and cover international W&I risks within a growing Transactional Risk unit. You work closely with senior underwriters, brokers, and M&A lawyers to shape policy coverage and appetite. You will build relationships to win new opportunities and mentor junior colleagues. This role blends corporate law experience with insurance, offering a path to more senior underwriting responsibilities in a collaborative, people‑centered culture.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite international W&I risks with review of transaction documents and due diligence reports
• Draft and negotiate W&I policies to fit coverage within appetite and guidelines
• Develop and maintain relationships with W&I brokers and M&A lawyers to source opportunities
• Supervise junior team members in preparing indications and supporting development
• Support the growth of the global TR team and promote cross-selling across TR product lines

Key requirements

• Qualified corporate solicitor with ≥2 years post-qualification experience or insurance professionals with W&I underwriting experience
• Experience drafting, managing, and/or underwriting due diligence reports for M&A
• Experience with W&I insurance
• Detail-oriented, proactive team player
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with W&I broker partners
