Our client is a very well-respected contractor who have demonstrated longevity in the UK construction industry. This growing Specialist Contractor has ambitious expansion plans and is now seeking a talented Mechanical Project Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

n

n

Projects are spread across the M8 corridor between Glasgow and Edinburgh, so applicants should live in the central belt within commuting distance of the east and west.

n

n

This position represents a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, highly motivated and technical Mechanical Project Manager to join an established Scottish contractor.

n

n

Your New Role:

n

n

    n

  • Overseeing all stages of the project lifecycle, including conception, design, development, and implementation
  • n

  • Managing and coordinating project teams, including engineers, designers, technicians, and subcontractors
  • n

  • Develop, manage, and maintain Design, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (DPC&C) programmes in Microsoft Project
  • n

  • Responsible for full mechanical cost control, including budgeting, estimating, package procurement, subcontract account management, and agreement of final accounts to meet project targets.
  • n

  • Chairing weekly subcontractor progress meetings and keeping accurate meeting minutes.
  • n

  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • n

  • Identifying project risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and resolving issues or delays
  • n

  • Managing project resources and materials to support successful delivery
  • n

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders
  • n

  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety requirements and relevant industry standards
  • n

  • Completing tender reviews and comparison reports to document the equalisation of compliant tender returns.
  • n

  • Producing building services quality plans (ITPs), including detailed commissioning plans and schedules
  • n

The successful candidate will possess:

n

n

    n

  • Degree in Building Services or a pipework-related apprenticeship.
  • n

  • Demonstrable experience of managing mechanical projects.
  • n

  • An ability to achieve results in a non-adversarial manner.
  • n

  • CSCS & SMSTS
  • n

  • Strong technical knowledge of building services and HVAC systems
  • n

  • Sound industry knowledge and understanding of best practice.
  • n

  • Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, from pre-construction through to delivery.
  • n

  • Experience delivering multiple projects concurrently (beneficial)
  • n

  • Experience working on fast-track or live operational sites.
  • n

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to track and file information efficiently and effectively.
  • n

  • Ambitious and capable, with a professional and articulate manner and a strong drive to deliver results.
  • n

  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • n
