W&A is working in partnership with a family-owned business near Leven in Fife to appoint a part-time Finance Manager. Working three days per week, this is a broad, hands-on role with full responsibility for the day-to-day finance function and close interaction with the owners and wider operational team.

Location: Near Leven, Fife

Contract: Part-time, 3 days per week

Salary: £50,000 FTE

n

Working Arrangements: On-site 3 days per week, with some flexibility around start and finish times

The Opportunity

n

n

This role will take ownership of the finance function for a varied family business, covering both core accounting and day-to-day financial operations. You will work closely with the owners and operational teams, giving you visibility across the business and a remit that spans management reporting, payroll, cash flow, tax, payables and receivables.

n

The breadth of the business means the role offers genuine variety and would suit an experienced accountant who enjoys being close to the detail while also building strong relationships with non-finance colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

    n

  • Produce financial and management accounts.
  • n

  • Run payroll for the group.
  • n

  • Reconcile bank accounts and review cash flow requirements.
  • n

  • Obtain approvals for purchase invoices and maintain accurate records.
  • n

  • Monitor and process bank activity.
  • n

  • Oversee tax and VAT matters in conjunction with the external auditors.
  • n

  • Build relationships with operational teams to understand upcoming costs and revenues.
  • n

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • n

What You'll Bring

    n

  • Experience in a hands-on financial accounting role.
  • n

  • Confidence taking ownership of a broad finance remit within a small team environment.
  • n

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • n

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with operational colleagues and business owners.
  • n

  • Knowledge of Sage would be advantageous.
  • n
