We are recruiting for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join an established business in Lancashire.
This is a senior role with responsibility for leading and developing health, safety and environmental standards across a busy operational environment.
Working closely with the management team and employees across the business, you will provide practical HSE leadership, support continuous improvement and help ensure that high standards are understood and maintained throughout the organisation.
The role
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading health, safety and environmental activities across the site.
- Developing and maintaining HSE policies, procedures and systems.
- Providing practical advice and support to managers and employees.
- Undertaking and supporting risk assessments, audits and inspections.
- Monitoring HSE performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Supporting accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
- Ensuring appropriate corrective and preventative actions are completed.
- Supporting environmental compliance and improvement activities.
- Working closely with operations, production, engineering and maintenance teams.
- Supporting employee engagement, training and awareness.
- Liaising with external bodies and other relevant stakeholders where required.
- Promoting a positive and practical approach to health, safety and environmental management.
About you
We are interested in hearing from experienced health, safety and environmental professionals from manufacturing, engineering, process, industrial or other operational environments.
You may currently be working as a Health & Safety Manager, HSE Manager, EHS Manager, SHE Manager, Environmental Health & Safety Manager or in a similar position.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Previous health and safety experience within an operational environment.
- Experience developing and improving HSE standards and practices.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- The confidence to work with employees and managers at all levels.
- A practical, visible and hands-on approach to health and safety.
Experience within a regulated, high-hazard or process environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
