VANRATH are recruiting for a Digital Executive – Content to join a high-profile organisation with a strong presence across Belfast and Northern Ireland.
This is a content-led digital role suited to someone who enjoys finding great stories, meeting people and creating engaging digital content for a wide range of businesses, organisations and initiatives.
You’ll work closely with external businesses, organisations, community groups and stakeholders, developing content that highlights the people, projects and initiatives making a positive impact across the region.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in content creation, social media, photography, video, campaigns, events and relationship building.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering engaging digital content across a range of channels.
You’ll be responsible for identifying interesting stories, meeting the people behind them and turning these into content that connects with different audiences.
One week you could be visiting a local business to create content around their growth and success. The next, you could be covering an event, interviewing an organisation, creating social media content or developing a digital campaign around an upcoming initiative.
It’s a varied role with plenty of opportunity to get out, meet people and take ownership of your own content.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Storytelling
Create engaging written, visual and video content across social media, websites and digital campaigns.
Identify interesting stories and develop them into engaging content.
Visit businesses, organisations and community groups to understand their work and create content around them.
Conduct interviews and produce case studies, features and social content.
Capture photography and video content for digital channels.
Develop creative ideas for campaigns and new content formats.
Maintain content calendars and ensure a consistent flow of engaging content.
Business & Community Engagement
Build strong relationships with businesses, organisations and community groups.
Regularly meet with external contacts to identify new stories and content opportunities.
Showcase the people, businesses, projects and initiatives making a positive impact.
Attend events, launches, presentations and community initiatives to capture content.
Develop strong knowledge of the organisations and people you work with and the stories they have to tell.
Social Media & Digital
Manage and develop content across key social media platforms.
Adapt content for different audiences and channels.
Monitor engagement, audience growth and content performance.
Respond to comments and enquiries in line with the organisation’s tone of voice.
Use analytics and audience insight to understand what content performs best.
Continuously test new ideas and formats to increase engagement.
Events & Campaigns
Support the delivery of digital campaigns and communications activity.
Attend and support events across Belfast and the surrounding area.
Create content before, during and after events.
Work with businesses and stakeholders to maximise the digital impact of campaigns and events.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a strong content creator and storyteller who knows how to create content that people actually want to engage with.
You’ll ideally be someone who:
Has experience creating content for businesses, organisations or brands.
Enjoys meeting people and getting out from behind a desk to find stories.
Can turn a conversation or business visit into engaging social, video or written content.
Understands what works across different social media platforms.
Is confident using photography and video as part of their content creation.
Is comfortable representing an organisation at events and meeting external stakeholders.
Enjoys working across a varied range of projects and audiences.
Essential Experience
2+ years’ experience in content creation, digital communications, social media, digital marketing or a related role.
Proven experience creating engaging content across multiple digital platforms.
Experience managing social media channels and content calendars.
Experience working with businesses, clients, organisations or external stakeholders.
Experience creating written, photographic and/or video content.
Strong understanding of social media trends and digital audiences.
Essential Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong storytelling ability.
Creative with a good eye for engaging visual content.
Confident interviewing and communicating with people.
Strong social media knowledge.
Organised and able to manage multiple content projects.
Proactive and comfortable generating your own ideas.
Confident representing an organisation externally.
Strong attention to detail.
