Overview

In this Bristol-based role you will lead a busy Employment team within a national law firm, supervising and supporting colleagues while handling your own caseload. You will advise on Employment Tribunal claims, draft pleadings and statements, and contribute to client service and strategy. The role combines leadership, mentoring, and hands-on employment law work in a flexible, hybrid environment. You will collaborate across offices to drive performance, development, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting a team of employment fee earners
  • Managing a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious work
  • Advising on Employment Tribunal claims and case strategy
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements and settlement documentation
  • Providing telephone and written advice to commercial clients
  • Ensuring high quality service delivery in line with client expectations
  • Contributing to team performance, workflow management and continuous improvement
  • Supporting business development, legal updates and client training
  • Collaborating with colleagues across multiple office locations

Key requirements

  • Qualified solicitor (or equivalent)
  • Experience supervising or managing a team
  • Genuine passion for employment law
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to take responsibility for cases and team strategy
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Proactive, positive and collaborative approach
  • Previous Employment Law experience desirable but not essential
