Overview

In this role you will develop and optimise plasma etch processes to meet performance, quality and yield objectives. You’ll work within multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical challenges and support new product development for customer requirements. You will process customer wafers, document activities, and provide technical support across the organization. The role involves international travel to customer sites and occasional shift work, contributing to process improvements and IP generation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and demonstrate plasma etch processes to meet specifications
  • Assess results with analytical equipment and software tools
  • Troubleshoot processes and perform root cause analysis
  • Provide updates to Product Management on demonstrations and samples
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and the global KLA support network
  • Summarise findings in technical reports and presentations
  • Develop and optimise processes across SPTS product platforms
  • Plan and execute work safely and on time
  • Utilise endpoint detection techniques to enhance process control
  • Conduct long-duration testing for new processes and equipment
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects supporting new products and technologies
  • Prepare technical reports for patent applications, publications, and conferences
  • Develop and optimise processes at customer sites and provide factory-based technical support
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships through effective technical support

Key requirements

  • Experience of plasma etch processing within a semiconductor environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with semiconductor metrology techniques
  • SEM experience would be advantageous, training can be provided
  • Knowledge and practical experience of endpoint detection techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
