Senior Cloud Architect (AWS)

We’re looking for an experienced AWS Architect who can take ownership of cloud architecture, provide technical leadership, and design secure, scalable cloud solutions within high-performing agile delivery teams.

Location: Manchester (Hybrid)

Contract Rate: Up to £550 per day (Inside IR35)

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading cloud and solution architecture across multiple delivery workstreams
• Designing scalable, secure, resilient solutions using AWS services and cloud-native principles
• Working closely with engineering teams to provide technical leadership and architectural direction
• Making key technical decisions and communicating architectural trade-offs to stakeholders
• Designing solutions across applications, APIs, integrations, infrastructure and data platforms
• Supporting modern engineering practices including CI/CD, containerisation and DevOps
• Collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout project delivery

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience as an AWS Architect, Cloud Architect, Technical Architect, or similar
• Deep understanding of AWS services and cloud-native architecture patterns
• Strong software engineering background, ideally including Python, JavaScript and SQL/PostgreSQL
• Experience designing APIs, integrations and distributed cloud solutions
• Knowledge of GitHub, Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of cloud security, scalability, resilience and operational best practice
• Experience leading technical teams and influencing architecture decisions

Highly Desirable:

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar)
• Serverless, event-driven and microservices architectures
• Automated testing and quality engineering practices
• Exposure to AI-powered products, services or integrations
