View Rubicon Technical – The Regulatory Compliance Experts
Head of Regulatory Affairs (Food Supplement)
Company Overview:Rubicon Bridge is a fast-growing SaaS provider to the consumer healthcare and wellness industry. We are building the compliance infrastructure that helps some of the world’s largest brands, retailers and marketplaces launch and sell regulated products globally. Our technology helps businesses understand whether products can be sold in a market, assess ingredients and formulations, create compliant labelling, monitor regulatory change and manage ecommerce compliance at scale. Rather than operating as another regulatory consultancy, we take deep human regulatory expertise and turn it into global compliance infrastructure.Food supplements are at the heart of where we started. As we continue to scale internationally, we are seeking an exceptional Head of Food Supplement Regulatory Affairs to lead this area of expertise. This is not a back‑office role. The right person’s judgement will shape decisions made across thousands of products and multiple international markets.
Responsibilities
- Act as the senior food supplement regulatory authority within Rubicon Bridge.
- Interpret complex regulatory questions and make clear, defensible, risk‑based decisions.
- Support major customer decisions, explaining complicated regulatory issues clearly and simply.
- Develop and own Rubicon Bridge’s regulatory positions on food supplements.
- Ensure the regulatory knowledge embedded within our technology is robust and defensible.
- Work closely with Product and Technology teams to turn regulatory expertise into scalable software.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Customer Success and Data teams, and work directly with customers.
- Anticipate regulatory developments and translate them into practical implications for customers, the platform and the product roadmap.
- Help determine how Rubicon Bridge approaches food supplement compliance globally as we expand into new markets.
- Represent Rubicon Bridge as an authority in the sector through industry events, training and thought leadership.
Requirements and Skills
- Typically 12+ years’ experience in food supplement regulatory affairs, ideally within a major supplement brand, consumer health business, multinational, retailer, manufacturer or similarly sophisticated regulatory environment. Exceptional candidates with less experience who have already operated at a senior level will be considered.
- Hands‑on experience across EU and international markets is a key differentiator for this role. Candidates who have managed market access, formulation and labelling decisions across multiple jurisdictions, including EU Member States and markets beyond Europe, will stand out.
- Proven responsibility for making regulatory decisions, rather than simply following established processes.
- Strong knowledge of food supplement formulation and ingredients, including botanicals and novel foods.
- Expertise in labelling and mandatory particulars.
- In‑depth understanding of nutrition and health claims, including advertising and promotional claims.
- Knowledge of maximum levels and market‑specific requirements.
- Experience of ecommerce and marketplace compliance.
- Experience of regulatory change and interpretation.
- Ability to interpret legislation and guidance, research unfamiliar issues, weigh evidence and reach sensible, risk‑based conclusions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters simply and defend your thinking when challenged.
- Comfortable being the expert in the room with customers and senior stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration with cross‑functional internal teams, and a genuine enjoyment of working with people and customers.
- Commercial thinking and the ambition to build something, not simply fill a vacancy.
