We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Assistant Head of Faculty – Business & IT to support the leadership and development of our curriculum provision. Working closely with the Head of Faculty, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring students remain at the heart of everything we do, leading high-performing teams, driving quality improvement, and developing a curriculum that meets the evolving needs of employers, industry and our local communities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and inspire teaching teams to deliver exceptional learning experiences and achieve outstanding student outcomes.
- Support the strategic development of the Business & IT curriculum, ensuring programmes remain innovative, relevant and aligned to industry and qualification reforms.
- Drive improvements in student recruitment, attendance, retention, achievement, progression and destination outcomes.
- Develop strong partnerships with employers, awarding organisations and key stakeholders to enhance opportunities for learners.
- Support quality assurance activities, including self-assessment, quality improvement planning, internal verification and Ofsted readiness.
- Line manage and develop staff, providing coaching, performance management and professional development opportunities.
- Lead curriculum planning, staff deployment and resource management to ensure effective and efficient programme delivery.
- Deputise for the Head of Faculty when required, providing visible and effective leadership across the faculty.
What we’re looking for
- A qualified and highly effective teacher with significant experience within Business, IT or a related curriculum area.
- Proven experience of curriculum leadership, quality improvement and driving student success.
- Strong understanding of further education, qualification reform and Ofsted expectations.
- Experience of leading teams, supporting staff development and promoting a positive, high-performance culture.
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, equality and delivering an exceptional learner experience.
