SDR are looking for an Activities Coordinator to join our team at St George’s Lodge, a 26-bed residential care home in Worthing.
As Activities Coordinator, you will play an important role in creating a positive and engaging environment for our residents. You will plan and deliver a varied programme of activities that encourages social interaction, creativity, movement and independence, while taking into account individual interests, abilities and preferences.
This is a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to residents’ day-to-day lives.
What you’ll be doing
Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of activities for residents
Encourage residents to take part in social, creative and physical activities
Develop activities around residents’ individual interests, abilities and preferences
Work closely with the care team to ensure activities are person-centred and meaningful
Organise seasonal celebrations, special events and group activities
Keep appropriate records of activities and participation
Create a welcoming, stimulating and safe environment within the home
Who we’re looking for
Previous experience as an Activities Coordinator or in a similar role would be desirable.

Enthusiastic, creative and confident engaging with people
Warm, patient and approachable
Organised and able to plan activities independently
A good communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
Passionate about supporting older adults to maintain their wellbeing, interests and independence
Flexible with start and finish times, depending on the needs of our residents

An Enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful applicant. We cover the cost of your DBS, with the cost only reclaimed if you leave within your first 6 months, subject to the applicable conditions.
