Sales Advisor — Chester Showroom (New Opening)
We’re opening a beautiful new showroom in Chester, and we’d love you to be part of it from the very first day.
If this sounds like you, you could be one of our founding Chester Sales Advisors.
You’ll connect with our customers, take time to understand what they’re really looking for, and guide them to pieces they’ll love and live with for years to come. You’ll help them picture what their home could become. It helps if you’ve worked in the UK furniture and homewares market, though we care most about warmth, curiosity and a real interest in people.
Our Sales Advisors bring energy and are self-motivated, with genuine communication skills and a natural interest in talking to customers. You’ll be professional yet personable, happy working towards your own goals and just as happy pulling together as a team to hit our collective showroom targets.
What you’ll be doing
- Giving every customer a friendly, personalised experience, grounded in real product knowledge and a love of furnishings
- Driving profitable sales through strong product knowledge and thoughtful, effective selling
- Meeting and exceeding your agreed targets and KPIs
- Spotting cross-sell and upsell opportunities where they genuinely help the customer
- Keeping the showroom merchandised to the agreed layout and presented to a high standard, including cleaning when needed
- Setting up and closing sales promotions and displays within their timeframes
- Maintaining the stockroom
Who we’re looking for
- A genuine interest in people, and someone who loves talking to customers
- A real interest in furnishing and design
- Energetic and self-motivated
- A genuine drive to grow your sales, with proven experience to match
- Exceptional customer service skills from a previous customer-facing role
- Clear, confident communication, spoken and written
- Someone who handles challenging moments calmly and thoughtfully
- Approachable, kind, and attentive to what others need
Have you heard about our benefits?
- Up to 33 days holiday per year (inc. Bank Holidays) — pro-rated for part-time colleagues
- Generous colleague discount on our products
- Membership of the Perkbox discount platform
- Cash Plan
- Cycle to Work scheme
- A paid volunteering day each year
- Access to Health & Wellbeing guidance and support
- A day off for your birthday
- And lots more
Who are we?
Over 25 years ago, we opened our first showroom at Bourton-on-the-Water, in the heart of the Cotswolds. This special patch of rural England taught us the value of timeless, understated furniture and accessories that bring homes to life, and of making things built to last. It’s why every piece carries our 15-year guarantee.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our products and the experience we give our customers, powered by our passionate people. We’re growing quickly, and Chester is part of that journey. If you’re passionate about what you do and want to work for an ambitious, warm-hearted company, we’d love to hear from you.
We care deeply about our teams, and we work hard to create an inclusive workplace where our differences are celebrated and everyone feels they belong. Our people’s wellbeing comes first. We lead with care by looking after one another, staying approachable and attentive, and making space for everyone to ask for help and receive kindness and understanding in return.
Applicants should already hold the appropriate Right to Work in the UK, as The Cotswold Company does not offer sponsorship.
