Overview
As Patent Specialist, you will shape the IP strategy for cutting-edge sustainable materials research. You’ll work with research teams to protect innovations, assess third-party patents, and manage the portfolio across global jurisdictions. You’ll partner with inventors and external counsel to file strong applications and drive IP governance. Responsibilities
- Support research teams with IP guidance across multiple technology projects
- Analyze third-party patents to identify risks and suggest mitigations
- Coordinate with inventors and external counsel to prepare and file patent applications
- Manage and monitor the company’s patent portfolio, renewals, and development
- Lead internal patent reviews and provide strategic IP input
- Maintain communication with global patent agents and external legal representatives
- Promote IP best practices across research and innovation teams
- Identify opportunities to improve IP management processes
- Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and environmental procedures
Key requirements
- PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry or equivalent experience in scientific/IP setting
- Experience as Patent Analyst, Intellectual Property Specialist, IP Analyst, Patent Administrator or similar role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to engage with new and emerging technologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
