Development Director/Senior Development Manager

Overview

Confidential search for a seasoned Development Director or Senior Development Manager to lead projects from post-acquisition through practical completion. You will operate across sectors, with a strategic focus on self-storage schemes, delivering smaller-volume projects rather than residential. You’ll come from a BS/QS or PM pathway and progress into development, coordinating schemes in varying stages—from planning and enabling works to bidding on multiple sites. You will work discreetly to shortlist and onboard candidates, driving delivery in a fast-paced, confidential context.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development delivery from post-acquisition to PC
• Coordinate multi-site schemes with varying development stages
• Manage enabling works and planning activities
• Oversee bid processes for multiple sites
• Ensure cross-disciplinary collaboration and timely decision-making
• Maintain confidentiality and stakeholder alignment throughout the process

Key requirements

• sector-agnostic development experience
• full-cycle project management across multiple sectors
• background in BS/QS or PM with a development transition
• preference against residential DMs
• ability to manage smaller-volume, fast-paced schemes
• experience with self-storage or similar property types is a plus
