Overview

In this role you will support the Special Works Team of a reputable main contractor based in Oxford, focusing on refurbishment and extension projects, primarily in the Education sector. You will help manage commercial aspects and contribute to estimating activities, supporting project delivery from cost planning to final accounts. The role suits someone with a strong track record in commercial projects and a client‑focused mindset within a family‑run business. This is a hands-on position with impact on project value and delivery scale, across diverse sectors.

• salary 40,000 – 50,000 + package

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of refurbishment/extension projects within the Education sector
• Support cost planning and financial control on projects up to 1.5m
• Assist with estimation activities and procurement support
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to ensure project commercial success
• Prepare and review cost reports, cash flow forecasts and variations
• Contribute to contract administration and final accounts as needed

Key requirements

• Degree qualified or other relevant qualification (preferred)
• Track record with a reputable Main Contractor
• Experience in Special Works advantageous
• Experience on commercial projects up to 1.5m
• Knowledge and experience of estimating advantageous
• Good commercial skills and awareness
• Able to commute to Oxford daily
