6pm-6am 4 on 4 off rotaTEMP TO PERM VACANCYWe are seeking an organised and proactive Night Transport Planner to coordinate daily transport operations within a busy haulage environment. The successful candidate will require experience in general haulage and be for planning vehicle routes, allocating loads, managing driver schedules, and ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently, safely, and on time. This is at a busy and growing depot.The role requires strong communication skills, excellent geographical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced logistics operation.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and schedule daily vehicle routes and driver allocationsCoordinate collections and deliveries across the UKMaximise vehicle utilisation and minimise empty runningMonitor driver hours and ensure compliance with transport legislation and Working Time Directive regulationsLiaise with drivers, customers, warehouses, and subcontractorsRespond quickly to operational issues including delays, breakdowns, and route changesEnsure all transport documentation is completed accuratelyMaintain regular communication with customers regarding delivery schedules and updatesUse transport management systems (TMS) and tracking software effectivelySupport the transport team with general operational duties as requiredSkills & Experience RequiredPrevious experience in transport planning or haulage operations requiredGood understanding of UK road transport regulations and tachograph rulesStrong geographical knowledge of the UK road networkExcellent organisational and problem-solving skillsAbility to work under pressure and manage changing prioritiesStrong communication and customer service skillsCompetent IT skills including Microsoft Office and transport planning systemsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDesirable QualificationsExperience using transport management softwareExperience within general haulage or pallet network operationsIf you have experience in transport, and feel like this is a role for you, we encourage you to apply!
