Quantity Surveyor

Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor in a major civil infrastructure project in the Midlands, you will manage the commercial aspects of the scheme under the Commercial Manager. You will measure, value, and report on progress, and support procurement and sub-contractor accounting. The role focuses on cost control, value reconciliation, and ensuring commercial alignment with schedules and client requirements. This opportunity offers exposure to large-scale civil works within a leading contractor environment.

Responsibilities

• Measure, value and report work accurately in line with procedures
• Interpret drawings and specifications to prepare Bills of Quantities and rates
• Review and monitor section programmes and cost information
• Plan and manage commercial activities to meet monthly deadlines
• Prepare cost reconciliation statements and support procurement requirements
• Coordinate with Procurement and manage Sub Contractors Accounts
• Submit and negotiate adjustment events with client
• Collate cost and value information for commercial decisions

Key requirements

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
• Experience as a Senior QS for a main contractor in civils
