Are you caring, reliable and comfortable supporting someone during the night? Abicare is growing its Homecare service across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area, and we are looking for Night Care Assistants to provide safe, reassuring and person-centred support to people in their own homes. We have opportunities covering both Waking Night and Sleep-in shifts. Waking Night carers remain awake and available throughout the shift, providing support whenever required. Sleep-in carers are able to sleep during the night but must be available to respond if the person they are supporting needs assistance. Experience in care is welcomed, but it is not essential. If you have the right attitude and genuinely want to make a difference, we will provide the training, shadowing and ongoing support you need.About this role As a Night Care Assistant with Abicare, you will support people to remain safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes overnight. Depending on the individual care package, your role may include:

  • Supporting with personal care, including toileting, washing and changing where required
  • Supporting bedtime and morning routines
  • Providing reassurance and companionship during the night
  • Responding appropriately when a client wakes or requires assistance
  • Supporting with mobility and safe transfers
  • Medication support in line with the individual care plan and your training
  • Monitoring the client’s wellbeing and responding to any changes or concerns
  • Completing clear and accurate care records
  • Following care plans, risk assessments and agreed procedures
  • Maintaining a calm, safe environment throughout the night
  • Working independently while knowing that support is available when neededPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. You must already have the right to work in the UK., You do not need to have worked in professional care before. More important to us is that you are:
  • Caring, patient and compassionate
  • Reliable and able to work independently
  • Comfortable providing personal care
  • Calm and confident when responding to someone during the night
  • A good communicator
  • Able to follow care plans and accurately record the support provided
  • Comfortable with lone working
  • Able to travel to the client’s home for the start and end of your shift
  • Legally entitled to work in the UK
  • Previous experience as a Care Assistant, Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Night Carer, Domiciliary Carer, or Community Carer is welcome.
  • Ability to work independently within the community, Previous care experience (not essential)
  • As well as working nights, are you flexible to work mornings, evenings and alternate weekends if required?£15.13 per hour for Waking Nights (incl. holiday pay)

£75.04 per Sleep-in shift (incl. holiday pay), Waking Night shifts Waking Night shifts are paid at £15.13 per hour including holiday pay. You will be expected to remain awake, alert and available throughout the shift. Our current overnight packages operate between approximately 11pm and 6am. Sleep-in shifts Sleep-in shifts are paid at £75.04 per shift (incl. holiday pay). You will be provided with appropriate sleeping arrangements and are expected to sleep unless the client requires support during the night.
