Overview
As an Information Assurance Consultant, you will apply cyber security and IA expertise across complex programmes within a high-assurance environment. You will work with technical teams, architects and stakeholders to embed secure-by-design principles and controls throughout the project lifecycle. You will translate threat intelligence into practical security measures and support risk-based decision making. This role offers impact through strengthened security architectures and governance across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide IA and cyber security expertise across complex programmes and technology projects
- Review and assess technical solutions for security risks and improvements
- Support development and implementation of security principles, standards and controls
- Ensure security requirements are embedded into design and governance
- Collaborate with risk owners to align controls with threat/risk environment
- Translate cyber threats into practical controls and recommendations
- Review cloud/hybrid/on-prem architectures from security perspective
- Support risk-based decision making and communicate security to technical/non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to continuous improvement of security architecture, governance and assurance processes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats and security approaches
Key requirements
- Proven IA/Cyber Security Consultant or Security Architect experience
- Experience in high-risk or highly regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of NCSC CAF and ISO 27001
- Experience translating security requirements into practical controls
- Solid understanding of security across cloud, hybrid and on-premises
- Experience reviewing architectures for security risks
- Ability to communicate complex security/risk issues to diverse stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to influence risk-based decisions
