Clinical Negligence Solicitor / CILEX – Cardiff – Senior Level

Overview

In this role you will manage a caseload of high-value clinical negligence claims within a specialist claimant team, mentoring junior staff and shaping case management practices. You will work hybrid from Cardiff, supporting complex matters pre- and post-issue while contributing to team development and marketing initiatives. The position offers meaningful work on sensitive cases and an opportunity to influence a growing clinical negligence group. You will partner with colleagues to ensure rigorous risk assessment and professional client handling, aligning with the firm’s inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

• Manage own caseload of complex high-value clinical negligence claims
• Handle pre- and post-issue matters for high-value cases
• Supervise and mentor a team of case handlers
• Conduct weekly risk assessment meetings and 1:1 supervision
• Provide ad hoc guidance to junior colleagues
• Participate in team training, development and marketing initiatives
• Maintain and contribute to the group’s case management procedures

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX with solid claimant clinical negligence experience
• Strong litigation background with experience managing complex claims
• Excellent knowledge of CPR and clinical negligence law
• Experience supervising, coaching and developing junior team members
• Ability to handle sensitive client matters with professionalism and empathy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient IT skills and organised approach
• Experience with LEI, CFA or publicly funded cases (advantageous)
