Overview
In this role you will act as the LV Authorised Person on site for a major commercial build in Central London, overseeing low-voltage electrical works and ensuring safety compliance. You will interface with project and commissioning teams to keep LV systems installed, tested, and energised to programme milestones. You will manage permits-to-work and maintain accurate switching and testing records to support audits and handover. This is a hands-on leadership position within a large MEP subcontractor delivering data centre and industrial projects, offering impact on safety, quality, and project delivery.

Responsibilities
- Act as the appointed LV Authorised Person on site for isolation, energisation, and switching activities
- Issue, manage, and close LV permits-to-work for electrical installation, testing, and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with BS 7671, Health & Safety at Work Act, and company Electrical Safety Rules
- Audit site practices and implement corrective actions to remove unsafe conditions
- Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, QA/QC, and commissioning teams
- Maintain accurate records of switching schedules, tests, and isolation procedures for audits and handover
Key requirements
- Minimum 5 years on large-scale commercial or mixed-use construction in electrical installation or commissioning
- At least 2 years as LV Authorised Person
- Valid LV Authorised Person certificate
- UK Passport or right to work in the UK
