Are you a Senior Full Stack Engineer who enjoys getting into the detail of how software actually works?
We’re working with a global financial technology organisation that is investing heavily in a new generation of cloud-based platforms supporting critical financial markets infrastructure.
This is a genuinely hands-on engineering role. We’re looking for someone who can do more than build features, someone who understands how APIs behave, why applications slow down, how React works under the hood, how to build accessible front ends, and how to design reliable processing for large volumes of data.
You’ll join a highly experienced engineering team working closely with a major global cloud provider, with the opportunity to contribute to a modern platform being developed from the ground up.

About You
We’re looking for a strong Senior Full Stack Engineer with excellent TypeScript/JavaScript skills and solid software engineering fundamentals.
You should be comfortable working across both front end and backend, with particular strength in:
- TypeScript / JavaScript and React
- Strong understanding of React fundamentals, component design, state management and rendering
- Strong knowledge of HTML structure, semantic HTML and web accessibility
- Building and troubleshooting REST APIs, including understanding API responses, status codes, payloads, errors and performance
- Diagnosing and resolving application and solution performance issues
- Backend development using TypeScript, Java, C# or another object-oriented language
- Designing reliable batch processing and data-processing solutions
- SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- AWS and modern cloud technologies
- Microservices and event-driven architectures
- Automated unit, integration and end-to-end testing
- CI/CD, Git and modern software engineering practices
Experience with GraphQL, WebSockets, Terraform and containerisation would also be beneficial.
The Type of Engineer We’re Looking For
This isn’t a role where you need to know every technology listed above.
We’re particularly interested in engineers who can understand problems, investigate them properly and explain their technical decisions.
You’ll be someone who:
- Can troubleshoot rather than simply identify that something isn’t working
- Understands what happens between a front end, API and backend service
- Can investigate performance bottlenecks and improve system behaviour
- Has strong front-end fundamentals rather than relying purely on frameworks
- Thinks about accessibility, maintainability and quality when building UI
- Understands how to process data reliably at scale
- Can challenge technical approaches constructively
- Is comfortable taking ownership of production-quality software
- Enjoys mentoring and raising engineering standards within a team
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, test and deploy high-quality full-stack solutions
- Build modern React/TypeScript applications and supporting backend services
- Develop and integrate APIs and investigate API and application issues
- Diagnose and improve application performance
- Design reliable batch and data-processing solutions
- Contribute to scalable, reusable and maintainable services
- Refactor and modernise existing systems
- Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions
- Improve engineering practices, testing and development standards
- Work closely with architects, technical leads and engineers across the wider organisation
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers
- Take ownership of services throughout their production lifecycle
