Overview

As a Geotechnical Engineer at Arcadis, you will contribute to geotechnical design, ground investigations, and technical reporting on major UK infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes and build strong relationships with clients. The role supports your professional development within an experienced team, with opportunities to influence site investigations and geotechnical solutions. You will work on-site as needed and travel to project locations, delivering sustainable solutions with impact.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in geotechnical calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports aligned with project standards
  • Contribute to ground investigations and geotechnical solution design and implementation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality results
  • Develop relationships with clients, project partners, and colleagues
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Take ownership of professional development with mentoring from senior engineers
  • Support project component management and ensure timely, clear communication

Key requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (MEng/MSc) with geotechnical bias or related field
  • Some civil engineering industry experience with exposure to geotechnical design or site investigations
  • Familiarity with geotechnical software (VDISP/PDISP, WALLAP, REPUTE, Slope/W) and MS Office
  • Strong numerical and written communication skills for technical reports
  • Enthusiasm for learning, problem-solving, and teamwork
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
