Site Quantity Surveyor

Overview

In this role you will survey occupied social housing properties, define scopes for planned maintenance and retrofit works, and support project delivery with accurate cost information and schedules. You will collaborate with residents, site teams and clients to ensure quality, safety, and compliance on retrofit programmes. The position focuses on delivering sustainability improvements and high customer satisfaction across social housing stock. This is a hands-on role with a clear impact on how homes are upgraded and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed property surveys across occupied social housing properties
• Assess and specify planned maintenance, refurbishment and retrofit requirements
• Produce schedules of works, specifications and cost information
• Conduct pre-start, progress and post-inspection surveys
• Support retrofit measures (EWI, IWI, loft/cavity insulation, window/door replacements, ASHP, Solar PV, ventilation)
• Ensure works comply with health and safety regulations, building standards and client requirements
• Liaise with residents, site teams, subcontractors and client representatives
• Monitor quality and identify remedial actions
• Support contract performance through accurate reporting and record keeping

Key requirements

• Previous experience as a Surveyor, Site Surveyor, Assistant Surveyor or Planned Works Surveyor
• Strong background in social housing planned maintenance
• Experience with inspections, condition surveys and producing specifications
• Relevant surveying qualification (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent) in Building Surveying, Construction or related field
• Strong understanding of construction methods and building pathology
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Good IT skills and experience with surveying software and Microsoft Office
• Full UK Driving Licence
