Overview
In this role you will support manufacturing operations at Abbott’s Witney site by performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and fixing faults, and monitoring equipment performance to protect yields and efficiency. You will work with bespoke automated equipment in a clean room setting and contribute to changes implemented by the Projects Team. The role includes a 4 on/4 off days and nights pattern and offers opportunities to drive continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration. You will help shape reliable, scalable manufacturing in a leading diabetes care division.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on bespoke automated equipment
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and fault find
- Monitor equipment performance to maintain yields and efficiencies
- Provide input to maintenance planning and process improvements
- Assist Projects Team with equipment changes and implementation
- Maintain high-quality records in line with quality systems
- Work in clean room or controlled environments
- Support 4 on/4 off days and nights shift pattern
Key requirements
- Experience of engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Experience set-up of precision assemblies
- Experience with machine tools
- Fault finding and problem solving
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship or higher education qualification in a related subject
- Effective communication with peers and other departments
