As a Senior Technical Specialist II for stem cells, you will serve as the subject matter expert for culture technologies, ensuring robust cellular models for multiple discovery projects. You’ll lead development and optimization, support cross-functional teams, and drive best practices in cell culture workflows. The role emphasizes high-quality cell production, cryopreservation, and troubleshooting to sustain fast-paced research. Responsibilities

• Lead the development, optimisation, and implementation of stem cell culture technologies.
• Culture, maintain, expand, and troubleshoot stem cell, primary, and recombinant cell lines.
• Manage multiple cell culture programmes simultaneously, delivering against project timelines.
• Generate and supply high-quality cell batches for high-throughput screening and discovery activities.
• Apply contemporary cryopreservation techniques to ensure cell line integrity and reproducibility.
• Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting cellular assays and culture-related challenges.
• Drive best practice across cell culture workflows and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with biosafety requirements and contamination control procedures.
• Collaborate with scientists, project teams, and stakeholders across departments and global locations.
• Engage with external suppliers, research partners, and occasionally clients to support scientific objectives.

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related discipline
• Significant experience in stem cell or advanced cell culture environments
• Hands-on experience culturing, maintaining, and troubleshooting stem cell lines
• Strong understanding of cell culture technologies, cellular assays, and cryopreservation methodologies
• Proven scientific problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
