Senior Project Manager

Overview

As a Project Manager, you will lead a portfolio of projects through the full lifecycle, accountable for scope, cost and schedule. You will translate quotes into supplier scopes and evaluate tenders, coordinating delivery with clients and the supply chain. You’ll manage a professional team, own packages and disciplines, and ensure delivery to budget, programme and quality targets. This role sits within Costain’s commitment to smart infrastructure across energy, water, transportation and defence markets, offering impact at scale.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects safely, on time and within budget with required quality
• Lead and coordinate a dedicated team integrated with the Client team
• Own project packages and engineering disciplines
• Manage delivery to budget, programme and production targets
• Maintain client and supplier relationships and liaison
• Ensure familiarity with drawings, specs and information for works packages
• Support managers and staff under supervision
• Ensure effective coordination with cross-disciplinary teams

Key requirements

• Awareness of NEC Form of Contract and Subcontract
• Understanding of Engineering Principles
• Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
• Significant experience in a similar role with a main contractor in a highly regulated environment
• Chartered Project Professional or progress toward that status
• Commercial acumen with budgets, forecasts, contract management, procurement and supply chain performance
