Overview

In this role, you will shape Citi’s Finance functional architecture and articulate a clear future state. You will work with Finance and Shared Services to define current and target architectures, guiding AI-enabled improvements and ensuring governance across data and platforms. You’ll influence technology decisions, mentor teams on architecture principles, and drive executive investment narratives. This is a strategic, cross-functional opportunity to transform Finance processes and reporting through architecture-led design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead collaboration with Finance and Shared Services to define current and future-state business architectures
  • Partner with data architects to influence Finance-wide data vision, governance, and platform direction
  • Align strategic technical investments to the target state architecture across Finance technology partners
  • Develop and evangelise business architecture principles for straight-through processing and accurate financial reporting
  • Champion Citi architecture principles and advise engineering teams on application
  • Shape Book of Work scope and sequence and participate in Finance Tech Design Authority
  • Own and govern Permit to Design/Permit to Build processes; produce architecture strategy papers and executive investment narratives
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities to embed AI/ML/GenAI within Finance processes with governance
  • Lead capability mapping, maturity assessments, and heat maps to inform investment prioritisation
  • Maintain central architecture knowledge repository and promote continuous improvement of the business architecture discipline

Key requirements

  • Extensive experience in an engineering/architecture capacity supporting Finance or related functions (financial services preferred)
  • Proven track record delivering cross-functional business process improvement and enterprise-wide architecture change
  • Experience leading virtual/matrix teams; ability to own initiatives end-to-end
  • Outstanding communication skills for influence from developers to senior executives
  • Methodical, detail-oriented approach with modern enterprise information architecture practices
  • AI domain knowledge: conceptual understanding of AI/ML, GenAI, and agency automation in Finance use cases
  • Experience with prompt engineering and AI-enabled productivity
  • Understanding of data confidentiality and Responsible AI in regulated financial services
