Associate Director, Pipeline Intelligence and Reporting

Overview

In this role, you will lead the development and enhancement of pipeline data, reporting, and analytics to inform both operational and strategic decisions within Novartis Development. You’ll translate complex analyses into clear business insights, collaborate with cross-functional leaders, and drive improvements in data governance and portfolio outcomes. The position offers impact on how development leaders assess risks and opportunities to accelerate access to innovative medicines. You will work in a hybrid London setting, partnering with senior stakeholders to shape portfolio decisions and reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and continuously improve pipeline reports and analytics for operational and strategic decisions
• Manage project and pipeline data ensuring accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and system integration
• Apply quality controls and harmonize data standards and reporting frameworks in line with governance and compliance
• Track KPIs, benchmark performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Translate complex data into clear implications and actionable recommendations for leadership
• Partner with cross-functional and senior stakeholders to align priorities and influence reporting outcomes
• Provide timely ad hoc analytical and reporting support for senior management
• Independently apply structured problem-solving and innovative approaches to improve analytics and business processes

Key requirements

• Graduate degree in life sciences (ideally Master’s or equivalent)
• Typically 8–10 years of experience in pharma/biotech or related industry
• At least 5 years in drug development, project management, or portfolio analytics
• Experience in cross-functional, international environments and familiarity with the drug development lifecycle
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to translate data into clear business insights and recommendations for senior leadership
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment without direct authority
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive improvements
• Excellent communication, tailored messaging, proactive learning
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
