Senior Highway Engineer

Overview

In this role you will join the Infrastructure team to lead client-facing highway design tasks and support/mentor junior engineers. You will produce detailed design drawings and CAD packages, maintain CAD standards, and liaise with clients and authorities to advance highway projects. The position offers exposure to cross-disciplinary collaboration within a busy central London office and opportunities for professional development through mentoring and training. You will contribute to shaping practical highway solutions while working within a supportive, goal-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Client-facing engagements and coordination
• Prepare drawings in AutoCAD and develop detailed highway design packages
• Document management and issuing drawings with CAD standards
• Support Engineering Leads in CAD standards, practices, and modelling workflows
• Mentor and learn from Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and CAD Technicians
• Provide cross-team support within the Infrastructure team and across the business

Key requirements

• Proficient in AutoCAD; Civil 3D preferred or experience with similar 3D software
• Knowledge of highways, drainage, and levels design
• Experience in delivering detailed design packages for highway projects
• Effective written and verbal communication; able to liaise with clients and staff
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with British Standards/Codes of Practice
• Able to be client-facing and present with confidence
