Overview
In this role you will strengthen cyber security across SSE’s Operational Technology (OT). You will work with OT, Future Networks and project teams to ensure security-aligned designs and architectures, while managing real-time cyber incidents and assessing attack vectors. You’ll develop and maintain OT security policies, support risk assessments, and drive remediation through collaboration with owners, vendors and internal teams. This is a hands-on position with meaningful impact on OT resilience and the SSE energy ecosystem.

Responsibilities
- Assess and improve cyber security within OT environments across SSEN
- Ensure OT designs, processes and systems are risk-assessed with mitigations
- Develop and update OT cyber security policies and procedures
- Maintain cyber risk registers for OT assets and drive owner engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors and external groups to identify and remediate vulnerabilities
- Represent OT as a security expert in cross-unit discussions and initiatives
Key requirements
- Professional certification such as GICSP or actively working towards
- Good theoretical and practical understanding of telecoms and IT systems
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment and vulnerability management processes
- Ability to translate complex technical information for diverse audiences
- Extensive experience with operation and design of OT networks
- SC level security vetting required (5 years UK residency)
