Finance Manager, EMEA Accounting

Overview

In this role you will support Amazon’s newest global initiatives from the EMEA Accounting team in London. You will partner across operational accounting, tax and business finance to design launches, automate processes, and influence platform development. You’ll lead cross-functional financial projects, assess risks, and implement scalable controls and reporting for high-growth launches. This position offers exposure to complex systems interactions and a role that directly drives efficiency, accuracy, and strategic decision-making. You will work with global teams to deploy robust accounting solutions and real-time financial insights that underpin business expansion.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting project support for new product designs and financial system setups, ensuring controllership.
• Deliver complex cross-functional projects with risks identified for senior leadership with resolution recommendations.
• Execute large-scale process improvements for new launches and existing processes with defined scope and deliverables.
• Develop and transition new month-end processes including general ledger close, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Maintain strong communication channels with global accounting teams.
• Monitor automated accounting entries, reporting processes, and internal controls for quality.
• Navigate a fast-paced environment with ambiguity while supporting multiple launches.
• Apply accounting expertise to integrate necessary financial reporting into new launches.
• Understand computing system interactions and implement internal controls to support new activities.

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree plus quantitative experience
• Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
• Experience across multiple finance and accounting roles
• Experience applying KPIs to analyses
• Experience building financial and operational reports/data sets for decision-making
• Experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis
• Experience participating in continuous improvement projects to scale controllership with measurable results
