We are seeking an experienced Voice & Network Engineer to support a large-scale telecommunications infrastructure refresh programme within a critical operational environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in modernising legacy network and voice technologies, helping to transition traditional telecommunications infrastructure to modern IP-based services while ensuring operational continuity.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong MPLS networking experience and a solid background in voice and telephony projects, particularly involving legacy-to-modern technology migrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the refresh and modernisation of legacy telecommunications infrastructure.
- Deliver migration activities from traditional SDH/PDH networks to MPLS-based environments.
- Contribute to fibre network replacement and upgrade programmes.
- Support the transition of legacy voice services to VoIP (Voice over IP) platforms.
- Produce and review Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for network and voice solutions.
- Work across network and voice technologies to ensure successful deployment and integration.
- Assist with Ethernet service, MPLS, DWDM and CWDM network implementations.
- Collaborate with project teams to minimise service disruption within a highly critical operational environment.
- Provide technical guidance during planning, implementation, testing, and migration phases.
- Troubleshoot complex voice and network-related issues during project delivery.
Required Skills & experience Essential
- Strong MPLS network experience.
- experience migrating legacy SDH/PDH environments to MPLS networks.
- Good knowledge of VoIP technologies and telephony systems.
- experience working on voice infrastructure or telephony transformation projects.
- Understanding of Ethernet services and IP networking principles.
- experience producing Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across voice and network technologies.
- experience working within business-critical environments where downtime must be carefully managed.
