Overview
In this role you will contribute to an established infrastructure team within a multidisciplinary design consultancy in central London. You will lead highway and drainage design tasks, support proposals, and manage projects to meet budget and client expectations. You’ll work with private developers, public bodies, and contractors, blending design delivery with on-site coordination. The role offers hybrid working and a path toward chartership, with mentoring responsibilities for junior staff.

Responsibilities
- Lead highway and drainage design schemes from concept to delivery
- Support proposals and project management to meet budgets and deadlines
- Manage a portfolio of projects across scales and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Attend client meetings and liaise with planning authorities, statutory bodies, and contractors
- Deliver design packages including Section 278/38 highway designs and road pavements
- Mentor and guide junior engineers to develop their experience
- Contribute to ground modelling/earthworks and drainage design efforts
- Ensure designs conform to DMRB, Local Authority guidelines, and relevant standards
Key requirements
- ≥5 years’ UK consultancy experience on highway and drainage schemes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Knowledge of highway design standards, guidelines, and processes
- MS Office (Excel) proficiency
- Strong communication and written skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and multi-disciplinary perspectives
- Chartered or working towards chartered status is welcomed but not essential
