Overview

In this role you will provide compliance oversight and advisory support to Marsh’s Direct Investment Unit in a MiFID-regulated environment. You will strengthen the compliance framework through policy development, monitoring, and risk-based guidance, acting as a trusted partner to drive governance and regulatory change. You will collaborate across Investments, Compliance, and Legal to embed compliant business practices. The position offers exposure to a broad range of compliance activities within a dynamic, regulated setting. This is a Hybrid London-based opportunity with a strong emphasis on cross-functional impact and career development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary source of day-to-day compliance advice for the Direct Investment Unit and ensure alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and oversee compliance registers within the First Line of Defence.
  • Develop and maintain compliance policies, manuals, procedures, and training materials to strengthen the framework.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring to verify adherence to regulations and internal controls.
  • Oversee call recording processes in collaboration with business and technology teams.
  • Escalate issues and collaborate with Compliance and Legal colleagues to implement effective solutions.
  • Build trusted advisory relationships with the business, delivering practical risk-based compliance support.
  • Identify, assess, and manage compliance risks and incidents; monitor regulatory developments and support change initiatives.

Key requirements

  • University degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong track record in a UK MiFID-regulated compliance function.
  • Solid understanding of the UK regulatory landscape and ability to apply requirements practically.
  • Experience supporting monitoring, regulatory advisory, policy governance, or risk oversight.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
