Senior Product Manager – Payments Platform

Overview

As Product Manager for Payward’s payments platform, you own the product vision and roadmap for the shared backend and integration surfaces used by internal clients. You coordinate with engineering to translate vision into a focused, high-impact plan and balance competing needs across banking partners, PSPs, and internal teams. You shape the client experience end-to-end, enabling rapid adoption with minimal hand-holding while aligning with regulatory and compliance requirements. This role offers the chance to scale a multi-tenant payments platform that underpins Payward’s global rails and payments ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision and roadmap for the Payward payments platform, including backend and integration surfaces (hosted pages, SDKs, embedded components, direct APIs)
• Map requirements from internal clients to evolve the platform’s capabilities for broader use cases
• Partner with engineering to convert vision into a sequenced, high-impact roadmap with measurable milestones
• Prioritize competing client needs and communicate trade-offs with clear rationale
• Shape the client experience end-to-end from first discussion to go-live to enable smooth adoption
• Collaborate with banking and partnerships teams to ensure new PSP/bank integrations scale across Payward
• Incorporate compliance, risk, and legal considerations early in the roadmap to avoid blockers
• Define and track platform success metrics (time to launch rails, time to go live for new clients, rails coverage, payment success rates)

Key requirements

• 5+ years of product management, preferably in platform, API, or infrastructure roles with internal customers or developers
• Working knowledge of payments ecosystems (pay-ins/payments, PSPs, acquirers, bank rails such as ACH, SEPA, Faster Payments, SWIFT)
• Strong technical fluency; ability to read RFCs, challenge architecture, and write API specs
• Experience shipping developer-facing products (APIs, SDKs, embeddable UI)
• Clear, structured writing that communicates designs to product, compliance, and business stakeholders
• Skill in managing multiple stakeholders and achieving alignment without direct authority
• Comfort using data to set goals and measure platform adoption and performance
