Overview

As a Clinical Specialist in Abbott’s Neuromodulation division, you will support DBS and SCS implantations and follow-up across NHS and private hospitals. This field-based role involves close collaboration with hospital teams, delivering expert device support and education while helping to expand the neuromodulation business. You will travel extensively to regional accounts, shaping patient care and outcomes. You will drive technical excellence and maintain strong relationships to enable successful implants and service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary technical support to customers during implantation and follow-up
  • Perform complex device/programming troubleshooting independently
  • Assist in planning and delivering regional customer education training events
  • Develop understanding of regional account objectives and strategies for assigned accounts
  • Build strong, professional relationships in hospital settings
  • Support regional NMD business strategy via product implantation coverage in accounts as agreed with leadership

Key requirements

  • BSc degree in a scientific discipline
  • Experience in medical devices or clinical background (physiotherapist/Pain Nurse transitioning to industry)
  • Knowledge of UK healthcare market
  • Flexibility to adapt working hours and locations for customer support
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with clinic settings and OR procedures (preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email
