In this role you will install, repair and maintain our residential and business fibre networks, delivering a best-in-class service. You will work on the Field-based FTTx network, handling splicing, testing and reporting to defined standards while communicating clearly with customers. Responsibilities

  • Support the Network Operations Manager across Installation, Services, Maintenance and Projects
  • Perform splicing, testing and reporting on the optical network per defined standards
  • Demonstrate understanding of WiFi, broadband devices, and structured cabling at customer premises
  • Communicate fibre terminology effectively to customers and colleagues
  • Present a professional image as the face of the business
  • Work independently in field-based settings and collaborate with engineers and supervisors
  • Maintain health and safety compliance under the Company HSE system
  • Contribute to achieving Network Operations programmes on time and to customer satisfaction
  • Adhere to CDM and safety requirements and liaise with civils/cabling contractors

Key requirements

  • Fibre installation/splicing experience in telecommunications (1st and 2nd fix)
  • Ability to work at heights and independently
  • Strong knowledge of fibre networks, gained from on-site experience
  • Experience with splicing and OTDR testing (training provided)
  • Fault finding experience (training provided)
  • Experience with fibre blowing machines (training provided)
  • NRSWA qualifications (training provided)
  • BT Accredited splicing qualification
  • Understanding of CDM and safety requirements
  • Ability to communicate fibre terminology to diverse stakeholders
  • IPAF desirable
