CSA Senior Cost Consultant – Data Centres (Site Based)

Overview

In this role, you will support the commercial management of major CSA capital packages on a hyperscale data centre programme. You’ll work with site leadership, contractors and the project team to secure robust commercial outcomes from procurement through final accounts. You will influence GMP procurement, contract administration and change control while producing forecasts, valuations and cost reports. This is an opportunity to shape commercial strategy on high-profile infrastructure and drive effective governance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Director in managing major CSA packages from procurement to final account
• Lead GMP development, negotiation and value conversion where agreed
• Prepare and review valuations, payment recommendations and change control with the site team
• Contribute to cost reports, forecasts, CVRs and executive dashboards
• Administer FIDIC contracts and governance processes
• Review tender analysis and recommendations prepared by the lead contractor
• Manage commercial risks, opportunities and contingency
• Collaborate with design, PMO, construction, procurement and commissioning teams
• Support management of enabling works, civils, piling, structures, steel and architectural packages
• Support final accounts with the lead contractor
• Track costs, variances and forecasts within financial systems
• Ensure compliance with risk, governance and commercial assurance processes
• Analyse commercial data to identify trends and recommendations
• Provide clear commercial advice to support project decision-making
• Share knowledge and contribute to service improvement within the cost management team
• Build relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders
• Mentor more junior colleagues on technical and project delivery matters

Key requirements

• Experience in a cost and commercial management role on major capital projects
• Strong post-contract experience including GMP procurement and commercial negotiation
• FIDIC contract administration

• Experience managing or supporting CSA-related packages
• Ability to analyse commercial information and provide practical recommendations
