Overview

As a senior Forward Deployed Engineer, you embed with client teams to translate real-world workflows into AI-enabled solutions. You lead end-to-end delivery from design to production, setting technical direction while securing integrations and hosting. You mentor peers and raise the bar for delivery, building scalable foundations and a pipeline of new use cases. This role combines hands-on engineering with strategic client delivery in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Embed within client teams to frame business problems as AI opportunities and identify real needs beyond stated requirements
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of AI solutions in live production environments
  • Set architectural direction and defend it to client engineering and security teams
  • Establish technical foundations with secure integrations, access, and hosting
  • Demonstrate value in production at small scale and scale successful approaches
  • Develop a pipeline of new use cases from on-the-ground observations
  • Mentor and grow junior engineers to raise delivery standards
  • Challenge existing systems to achieve business goals through technical excellence and innovation
  • Stay updated on AI and technology trends to remain cutting-edge

Key requirements

  • Excellent programming and system design skills with hands-on Python experience and knowledge of at least one of C#/.NET, Java, Rust, or C++
  • Proven track record taking AI or ML systems into production (LLMs, prompt design, agentic workflows, retrieval pipelines)
  • Depth in APIs, integrations, SQL, cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), version control, CI/CD, and security considerations for deployments
  • Ability to own a project from start to finish in ambiguous settings and make judgements on what to build, buy, or leave
  • Experience working with clients or business stakeholders and ability to push back when needed
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership, problem-solving drive, and willingness to innovate
  • Strong communication skills for clients and non-technical colleagues
  • Desire to build domain knowledge and understand market context
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or related field
  • Financial services experience is a bonus but not essential
